My husband and I attended a lecture hosted by Sam Benson, who was very likable and someone we thought we might feel comfortable with to handle our financial and retirement planning. The lecture lasted 45 minutes and was minimally informative, which was to be expected. We filled out a form that we would like more information and were called to set up an appointment for a free telephone review. No one ever called for our scheduled appointment and when I called to see what had happened I was told the person who made the appointment was fairly new and had put the appointment on the calendar in a place where Mr. Benson could not see it. I told her it was fine and we made another appointment, again no call. Apparently, they have no regard for my and my husband's time, as we have now wasted two lunch breaks. If this is the manner in which this company conducts business, I surely do not want them handling my financial planning for the future.
Edit: I received a call from Jim Martin who was very upset with my Google review. He stated that I had received a phone call and a voicemail from Mr. Benson and I informed him that I had, in fact, not received either. He then told me that I would be receiving a letter from his lawyer and I proceeded to tell him I did not care. He told me "I could dig my heels in if I wanted to but he had a lot of money." I told him I did not care how much money he had and would only remove the review if he could prove to me that the phone call had been made. I told Mr. Martin he was acting like an a** and terminated the phone call.
Shortly after Mr. Martin's call, I received a call from Sam Benson explaining that he had transposed a couple of numbers when returning our scheduled phone call and apologized for the error. Mr. Benson was very professional and courteous.
